Claire-ification: Living the American Dream

So that mentality that we had when we were just a bunch of Colonials with pitchforks and we got mad and kicked the collective butts of those that were ordering us around and oppressing us?  Do you really want to admit that that mentality, that freedom thinking mindset, that strength is gone?

I don’t think you do, because as Americans it’s really all we have over everyone else.  Back then, when we were told to shut up and do what the queen said and she was thousands of miles away, we said “No”.  Knowing that it would start a war, we said “No”.  Knowing we’d have to work our butts off and make our own way and carve our own path, we said “No”.  and we kept saying “No”, didn’t we?  Until pretty recently when people started saying well…maybe it’s better to hang back in this bad economy and just wait it out and not start up new businesses and not take any new risks and just curl up in a little heap and take it.

Well, you know what I say?  “NO!”

This country was made by free thinkers, and the only way to keep it great is to remain free thinkers.  So when someone has a dream, a goal an idea. And they ask their friends and family what they should do, which is always a mistake, all you naysayers and poo pooers out there crap all over that persons dream, and say “sounds risky, you should just get a job’..

What’s wrong with you people?  You should slap yourself silly for putting your own fear and weakness onto your friend.

His brave idea is his way of saying no!

That’s what this country was founded upon.

Americans have an idea and we run like hell with it. We create, we recreate. We design. We make things.  Awesome things.  That the rest of the world wants.  We created the brilliant free thinking society that every other country wants to be.

So, don’t crap on other people’s dreams. That’s the only way we make our world special. Our days better. Our lives longer. Our families happier. Our future brighter.

Our stubbornness and unwillingness to buckle even when up against ridiculous odds and people who say you can’t. We do not back down. Ever. Because were Americans. Because we were kicked out every decent country in the world.  We’re adorable mutts.

When Spencer Tack of 3M seriously screwed up and made low tack glue instead of super strong cement, did he cry and whine and start all over again?  No he didn’t.   Even when people said “No” and “Try again” and crapped all over it for 5 long years, he said “No”! His buddy Art put it on paper, the post it.  They stayed strong and stubborn and now we have the most useful office tool in the world.  Proof that most people do not have even the ability to recognize greatness for what it is.  So shut up!

If these brave and stubborn entrepreneurs had just once admitted defeat then every American would be constantly losing their notes and it would be anarchy.  One tiny thing can make a big difference, can’t it… And we can continue to do anything as long as we stay stubborn and determined. Go can create that thing and you can succeed. You can leave that mind numbing life sucking pointless job for something real. For something that’s all your own. If you have a dream get to it already. Are you going to wait until you’re dead before you start to really live? Get on with the living already. Because life is too short.

We’re starting to live our dream. And it’s all about the food and its growing.  We’re foodies, and food is all about creation and dreaming.

Only a schmuck would dump all over other’s ideas and lay their own weakness and fear on others potential.  Only a schmuck would hate to see you win just because they cannot.  Don’t be a schmuck.

Say it with me to help it grow. Show us what makes you great America! Say it with me. I do believe in foodies. I do.  I do. I do!
