So, I’m sure every one of us has eaten at a really expensive super fancy steak restaurant, where the steak comes as a seared hunk all by itself on a super hot plate and if you want a vegetable you have to pay for it separately as a side dish? I have a special talent. I can tell whether I’m going to like the food at a restaurant even before I taste it. It’s a thing I’ve always been able to do. Sometimes I still eat there even if I know I wont like it, just to prove to myself that I can still do it. D bar in Hillcrest made it easy for me to tell. The D stands for dessert. It’s a dessert restaurant. This place knows that the dessert is the best part of the meal, and that sometimes you should just skip the dinner and get right to the good stuff. Read more »

Firstly, these are very pretty places to walk into, aren’t they? There’s always like a big Buddha fountain or a tranquil coy pond, which you’re not allowed to touch. A polite hostess in a tight Kimono smiles sweetly and leads you to a table in a huge arena sized room that looks like a high school cafeteria, except unlike high school, everyone here is shorter than you.
